The Studio at SAM

As part of The Studio at Seattle Art Museum (SAM), which highlights the work of different local artists, renowned Seattle-based Mexican artist Fulgencio Lazo, originally from Oaxaca, will be the featured artist for the month of October. His work reflects the connection between his Oaxacan roots, his experience in Seattle, and the Mexican community of the Pacific Northwest. Throughout the Thursdays in October, SAM will offer special activations such as Print Shop Hours, featuring professional artists and, on select dates, Lazo himself. Although he will be the featured artist in October, his work will remain on view through January 11. This event is part of the 10th Anniversary of the MEXAM NW Festival 2026, organized by the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle, thanks to our community partnership with the Seattle Art Museum. https://www.seattleartmuseum.org/
