Join us for an insightful conversation on Latin Music and Culture in Seattle: A Conversation to Build Comunidad, presented by KEXP and Aquí y Ahora. This panel will explore the rich and diverse contributions of Latin music and culture to the Seattle community, while also discussing the challenges and opportunities faced by Latinx artists and cultural leaders. The panel will feature esteemed speakers from various sectors of the community, including:
- Miguel Maestas, Associate Director at El Centro de la Raza
- Héctor Iván Godoy Priske, Consul of Mexico in Seattle
- Laura Vilches, Manager of Latin & Immersive Programs at STG (Seattle Theatre Group)
- Judy Avitia-González, Co-founder and Co-director of Nepantla Cultural Arts Gallery Seattle
- Sounders FC representative (TBD)
Moderated by Albina Cabrera from KEXP, this event promises to be a dynamic conversation about the intersection of music, culture, and community building in Seattle.
The panel will run for 40 minutes, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session, concluding with an opportunity for networking and music from 4:25 PM to 5:00 PM.
