Seattle Opera Open House

Saturday, September 26, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., join us for the Opera Center Open House, an afternoon of music, art, and activities for all ages that is part of MEXAM NW Festival 2026.

One of the centerpieces of Seattle Opera’s new season will be El último sueño de Frida y Diego. At this preview, you can enjoy:

• A performance by the Highline High School mariachi band

• Excerpts from the opera, this time featuring arias sung by the characters of Frida Kahlo and La Catrina, performed by local opera singers

• A participatory community mural depicting Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, led by Jake Prendez of Nepantla Cultural Arts

• A Frida Kahlo-inspired mixed-media art activity facilitated by Amaranta Sandys-Ibarra
