From Mexico to Yakima

From Mexico to Yakima: Contemporary Oaxacan Printmaking marks the closing of the 2026 MEXAM NW Festival, celebrating our 10th Anniversary. Curated by art historian Dr. Deborah Caplow, the exhibition celebrates Oaxaca’s vibrant contemporary printmaking scene through works created using a variety of printmaking techniques. The exhibition also highlights artistic connections between Oaxaca and Washington State through the work of printmaker Christie Tirado, creating a dialogue between the artistic communities of Oaxaca and Yakima. The opening reception will take place on October 31, coinciding with the final day of our festival, which is why we have included the exhibition in the 2026 MEXAM NW Festival calendar, organized by the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle. While the festival concludes that day, the exhibition will remain open to the public from October 31 through December 4.
